What is Addiction? Addiction is a disease, just as diabetes and cancer are diseases. It is a disease of the brain, not simply a weakness. People from all backgrounds, rich or poor, can develop an addiction.

Treatment

Treatment helps people stop using the drugs they’re addicted to. Treatment can include talk therapy, medicine, or both.
